Randomized clinical trial on evaluation of the effect of Bergamot oil on treatment of ring worm Infection in calves and cats
April 2016
The study evaluated the in vivo effectiveness of bergamot oil ointments at different concentrations for treating Dermatophytosis in cattle and cats. It concluded that higher concentrations of bergamot oil (5% and 2.5%) resulted in rapid recovery, with the disappearance of scales and erythema, and the quick regrowth of hair, while a lower concentration (1.25%) was less effective. The study recommended using 2.5% and 5% concentrations for topical treatment of Dermatophytosis and suggested further research on the oil's antifungal properties.
