TLDR Rational thinking helps young adults resolve conflicts better than experiential thinking.
The study investigated the relationship between rational and experiential thinking styles and interpersonal conflict resolution among 202 young adults in Pakistan. It found that the rational thinking style was more prevalent and significantly associated with effective conflict resolution, while the experiential thinking style did not show a significant impact. Gender differences were noted, with males generally resolving conflicts better and females more likely to use experiential thinking. The findings suggested that promoting rational thinking could improve conflict resolution strategies and inform HR practices, particularly in collectivistic societies.
