TLDR A new keratin treatment can strengthen and protect aging hair.
The study developed a method to simulate the aging effects on human hair keratin caused by factors like shampooing, blow drying, and sunlight, replicating the stress of approximately 100 Central European summer days in just 5 working days. Stress-strain measurements indicated a significant weakening of hair structure due to these aging effects. A new keratin active containing peptides identical to those in human hair was created, which penetrated deeply into the cortex cells, as shown by fluorescence microscopy. This keratin active successfully prevented aging damage by strengthening the hair structure.
