A Review on Calotropis Gigantea Latex Used in Skin Conditions
Calotropis gigantea, commonly known as Giant Calotropis or Milkweed, is a plant with significant pharmacological importance, traditionally used in Indian medicine systems like Unani, Ayurvedic, and Siddha. The plant's latex, a milky white substance rich in bioactive compounds such as cardenolides, terpenoids, and flavonoids, has been used to treat various conditions, including skin diseases, wounds, burns, asthma, bleeding, inflammation, pain, and fever. Recent studies have also explored its potential in treating cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases.
