TLDR Ultrasound delivery of hair serum improves hair appearance and health more than microneedling.
The study compared the effectiveness of radiofrequency microneedling (RFMN) and ultrasound delivery of a plant-based secretory factor (CFa1) hair serum for treating androgenetic alopecia (AGA) in 20 subjects aged 23-79. Both methods showed improvements in hair and scalp health, but ultrasound delivery resulted in more pronounced enhancements in hair appearance, reduced shedding, and increased hair density, thickness, and color. The study suggests that ultrasound delivery may offer greater benefits for cosmetic improvement in AGA.
