Role of ASLNC168501 in Regulating Hair Follicle Stem Cell Activity via the AR/miR-128-3p/IGF-1 Pathway

    This study investigates the dysfunction of hair follicle stem cells (HFSCs) in androgenetic alopecia (AGA) and identifies the AR/miR-128-3p/IGF-1 pathway as a key factor. It was found that IGF-1 expression is significantly reduced in AGA patients, leading to impaired HFSC activity. The study reveals that ASLNC168501 acts as a competing endogenous RNA, sequestering miR-128-3p, which restores IGF-1 expression and supports HFSC function. Overexpression of ASLNC168501 in dermal papilla cells enhances HFSC self-renewal and reverses hair follicle atrophy in AGA mice. These findings suggest that ASLNC168501 could be a promising therapeutic target for hair regeneration in AGA.
