The study investigated the effects of rosemary extract on young male albino rats whose mothers were treated with the extract during lactation. The research involved three groups: a control group and two groups treated with 200 mg/kg and 1000 mg/kg doses of rosemary extract. Results showed that a high dose (1000 mg/kg) led to negative health effects in the offspring, including failure to gain weight and atrophic and degenerative changes in the liver and kidney. Additionally, there was a significant reduction in Leydig cells in the testes. The study concluded that high doses of rosemary extract have teratogenic effects and should be avoided during pregnancy and lactation.
