Salt Score Cards: Facilitating Salt Score Calculation In Alopecia Areata

The study introduces a handheld SALT score card designed to simplify the calculation of the Severity of Alopecia Tool (SALT) score for alopecia areata (AA). This tool addresses challenges in current methods, such as hair length discrepancies and small patches that are difficult to score. The card features marked circles representing different SALT scores, facilitating easier and quicker assessment of hair loss. While the card is already in use and aids in clinical practice, it has not yet been validated against the standard visual SALT score calculation. The authors offer to share technical specifications for local production and report no conflicts of interest.
