Bhargavi Matli, B Surendra, KS Saikrishna
TLDR Sarolaner effectively treats generalized demodicosis in dogs without side effects.
The case study evaluated the efficacy of sarolaner, a novel isoxazoline, in treating generalized demodicosis in six dogs. The dogs exhibited symptoms such as pale patchy alopecia, papules, pustules, erythema, scaling, and crusting lesions. Despite normal vital parameters, microscopic examination confirmed the presence of Demodex canis mites. The treatment regimen included oral sarolaner along with other topical and supportive medications. After four weeks of treatment, there was a significant resolution of clinical signs and complete parasitological cure, with no adverse reactions reported.
