TLDR Scalp discoid lupus erythematosus shows two distinct patterns in skin of color.
This study analyzed the clinical and trichoscopic features of scalp discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE) in individuals with skin of color. It identified prevalent trichoscopic features such as follicular plugs (87%), yellow dots (53%), white scales (92%), and various vascular patterns. The study concluded that scalp DLE presents as two distinct clinical morphologies in skin of color, with trichoscopic features varying based on these morphologies. However, the study was limited by its small sample size and retrospective design.
