TLDR Nab-paclitaxel chemotherapy can rarely cause lupus-like skin issues.
This case report discusses a rare instance of subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus (SCLE) induced by nab-paclitaxel, a chemotherapy drug commonly used for various cancers. While paclitaxel is known for side effects like hair loss and peripheral neuropathy, its link to lupus erythematosus is seldom reported. The report highlights a patient with pancreatic cancer who developed SCLE following nab-paclitaxel treatment, marking only the second such case documented in medical literature.
