TLDR Low Vitamin D levels are linked to female hair loss.
The study evaluated the serum levels of 25 hydroxy vitamin D in 45 patients with female pattern hair loss (FPHL) to understand its role in the disease's pathogenesis. Using Elisa, the researchers found that the mean vitamin D level was 18.0 ± 11.97. The results indicated a correlation between FPHL and decreased serum levels of Vitamin D3, suggesting that evaluating serum Vitamin D3 levels, along with other hormone assays, could be beneficial for these patients.
