Design And Formulation Of A Shampoo Based On Alcoholic Extract Of Urtica Urens L. For Application Against Hair Loss

The study designed and formulated a shampoo containing alcoholic extract of Urtica urens L. to combat hair loss. It involved 10 individuals with non-pathological hair loss, evaluated over 21 days. The shampoo was tested at 2% and 5% concentrations, resulting in a 56.8% and 32.1% reduction in hair loss, respectively. The study used a standardized 60-second hair count method to assess hair fall and observed an increase in hair diameter. The shampoo was effective in reducing hair loss by over 50% and did not cause skin irritation.
