TLDR A reliable method was developed to measure Minoxidil and Tofacitinib in gel for hair loss treatment.
The study successfully developed and validated a UV-spectrophotometric method for the simultaneous estimation of Minoxidil and Tofacitinib citrate in both raw and pharmaceutical forms, specifically in a topical gel for treating Alopecia areata. The method adheres to International Council for Harmonisation guidelines and demonstrates high selectivity, specificity, precision, accuracy, ruggedness, and robustness. Minoxidil and Tofacitinib citrate showed peak absorbance at 258nm and 290nm, respectively, with reliable quantification in the 2-10µg/mL range. The method's detection and quantification limits were established, and recovery rates in gel formulations ranged from 50.00% to 150.00%, confirming its suitability for routine analysis.
