TLDR Social media significantly influences medical professionals' interest in cosmetic procedures.
This study investigated the impact of social media on the interest in cosmetic procedures among 431 medical students and doctors aged 18–55. It found that 93.9% of participants used social media, with 68.5% seeking cosmetic-related information through these platforms. Instagram, Google, and YouTube were the most popular sources. Women were more likely to use beauty filters and were significantly more influenced by advertisements for non-surgical procedures. The findings suggest that social media plays a significant role in shaping interest in cosmetic treatments among medical professionals.
