    Researchers studied the use of 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane, a small molecule, to strengthen fine hair by penetrating the hair cuticle and improving its mechanical resistance. The sol–gel approach allowed the material to enter the hair fiber, forming oligomers that resisted shampooing. Three-point bending measurements confirmed enhanced mechanical resistance in treated hair, and surface morphology analysis showed no perceptible coating, resulting in increased hair body and a natural feel. This study aimed to address the needs of individuals with fine hair, providing a solution for improved volume and styling ease.
