TLDR A rare finger tumor was imaged, showing a unique pattern not seen before.
This case report described a rare proliferating trichilemmal tumor (PTT) originating from the outer root sheath of a hair follicle, typically found on the scalp, but in this instance, located in the subungual region of a finger. The sonographic examination revealed a heterogeneous mass with echogenic foci, likely representing keratin and cholesterol, and no detectable intratumoral vascularity. This was notable as sonographic findings of PTT in the subungual region had not been previously documented.
