The Effect of Spirulina Algae (Arthrospira Platensis) Extract on the Differentiation of Bone Marrow Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells to Neuron Cells

    This study investigated the effect of Spirulina algae extract on the differentiation of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells into neuron cells. The results showed that Spirulina extract, at doses ranging from 50 to 200 ng/mL, significantly increased cell survival and differentiation into neural cells without any toxic effects. The findings suggest that Spirulina algae extract could be a promising therapeutic approach for neurodegenerative diseases, as it effectively induces the differentiation of stem cells into neural cells.
