Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Scalp Following Synthetic Hair Implantation: A Structured Narrative Review and the Seventh Case Reported in Literature

This review highlights a rare case of squamous cell carcinoma developing on the scalp years after synthetic hair implantation, a cosmetic treatment for androgenic alopecia. The patient exhibited a persistent, non-healing lesion with recurrent inflammation and scarring at the implantation site. Diagnosis was confirmed through clinical and histopathological evaluation, leading to surgical intervention. The case emphasizes the potential for long-term malignant complications from synthetic hair grafting and the need for vigilance in evaluating chronic scalp lesions in patients with such a history.
