TLDR Stem cell therapy can help reduce hair loss from COVID-19 vaccination.
A female patient experiencing hair loss after a COVID-19 vaccination was treated with autologous CD34+ enriched hematopoietic progenitor cell fraction (CD34+ HPCF) and umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs). The treatment involved weekly subcutaneous injections of CD34+ HPCF into the scalp for 10 weeks, with UC-MSCs administered intravenously and subcutaneously during weeks 5 and 10. After 12 weeks, the patient's hair loss improved significantly without notable adverse effects, indicating that this stem cell therapy may effectively alleviate hair loss induced by COVID-19 vaccination.
