Study of Antibacterial activity of Mulethi and Amla against gram negative bacteria Escherichia coli

The study investigated the antibacterial potential of Glycyrrhiza glabra (Mulethi) and Emblica officinalis (Amla) against the gram-negative bacterium Escherichia coli. Both plants are known for their medicinal properties, with Mulethi being used for various health benefits and Amla known for its rejuvenating and anti-inflammatory effects. The research involved preparing aqueous and crude extracts of these plants to assess their antibacterial efficacy. The results showed that the crude extracts of both Mulethi and Amla exhibited significant antibacterial properties, with the 100% crude extract demonstrating the maximum antibacterial effect against E. coli, as confirmed through antibacterial assays and growth curve analysis.
