TLDR Rosemary extracts promote hair growth better than minoxidil.
This study investigated the hair growth effects of rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) extracts, including essential oil, hydrolate, and alcoholic extract, on male C57BL6//BIOU mice. The mice were divided into five groups, including a negative control (distilled water) and a positive control (5% minoxidil). Over 5 weeks, hair growth was assessed using a growth scale and hair length measurement. The results showed that the groups treated with rosemary extracts (AE, ER, HR) exhibited significantly greater hair growth compared to the control groups, with a p-value < 0.05. The study concluded that rosemary extracts stimulate hair growth more effectively than minoxidil.
