TLDR The MEST method increases cell yield and volume for regenerative medicine but needs more testing.
The study explores the Supercharged Mechanical Stromal-Cell Transfer (MEST) method, which combines PRP and fat-derived stromal cells to enhance regenerative medicine outcomes. Conducted with 8 volunteers, the study introduced a novel approach by mixing fat tissue and blood samples with PPP and mechanically obtaining stromal cells using sharp blades. The addition of PRP to the final product resulted in a "supercharged" mixture. The method yielded twice the volume and 4.7 times more cells compared to the saline group, attributed to the protein "binding" effect in plasma. While promising, the clinical efficacy of this method requires further advanced studies.
