TLDR The (bi)eyebrow approach is better for frontal sinus injuries, reducing scarring and complications.
A study conducted at the 426th Military Hospital in Russia with 42 male patients aged 22 to 43 years evaluated surgical approaches for frontal sinus injuries. The research compared an open bicoronal approach with fatty obliteration of the sinus to a combined (bi)eyebrow approach with endonasal video-based navigation. The findings showed that the (bi)eyebrow approach significantly reduced postoperative skin sensitivity impairment, minimized the area and duration of impairment, prevented visible extensive scarring, and decreased the incidence of postoperative frontal sinusitis, with all differences being statistically significant (p<0.001).
