TLDR Switching to generic drugs is necessary but faces communication and information challenges.
The study concluded that switching from patented to generic medication was more of a necessity than an option due to market deficiencies and the expiration of patents. It involved 150 participants, including 50 doctors, 50 pharmacists, and 50 patients, to assess factors influencing this switch. Key issues included a lack of information, insufficient collaboration among healthcare professionals, and the influence of profit motives. Despite concerns about the quality and effectiveness of generics, research showed no significant differences in effectiveness compared to original drugs. The study emphasized the need for improved cooperation among healthcare professionals to benefit patients, with financial considerations and patient adherence being important factors in the decision-making process.
