TLDR A rare case linked complete hair loss to both pancreas and gallbladder cancer.
A 55-year-old woman presented with synchronous gallbladder and pancreatic cancer, a rare occurrence with fewer than 10 cases reported globally. Uniquely, she also experienced alopecia totalis, characterized by complete loss of scalp and facial hair, which has not been previously associated with abdominal malignancies. The alopecia may be linked to a paraneoplastic syndrome related to her gallbladder cancer. Despite palliative chemotherapy, her condition progressed, and she passed away three months after diagnosis, with alopecia persisting until her death. This case highlights a novel presentation of alopecia totalis in the context of advanced pancreatobiliary malignancy.
