Synthesis and Anticancer Activity Evaluation of Novel 6-Mercaptopurine Derivatives

A series of five 6-mercaptopurine derivatives were synthesized and evaluated for anticancer activity against three cancer cell lines. The study found that all five compounds were active, but compound 1 was reviewed in detail. The synthesis process and product purity were monitored using thin layer chromatography, and the chemical structures were confirmed through melting points, infrared spectroscopy, elemental microanalysis, and proton nuclear magnetic resonance.
