TLDR PRP therapy shows promise for anti-aging but lacks consistent evidence and standardization.
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy is gaining popularity in personalized medicine due to its ability to release growth factors and other molecules that aid in tissue regeneration and inflammation relief. It shows potential in regenerative medicine and gerontology, being used in both esthetic medicine and to stimulate tissue repair. However, the clinical efficacy of PRP is debated due to inconsistent study results, lack of standardization in sample preparation, and insufficient objective data. This review explores the current clinical efficacy of PRP and its role in treating age-related diseases.
