TLDR Tideglusib helps heal wounds in older skin.
The study investigated the effects of Tideglusib on wound healing in aged skin by activating the PI3K/Akt pathway, which declined with age. Conducted on 225 rats of varying ages, the research showed that Tideglusib improved wound healing, particularly in older rats, by enhancing PI3K/Akt phosphorylation and overcoming the limitations of EGF due to reduced EGFR expression in aged skin. The findings suggested that Tideglusib, especially when combined with EGF, could be a promising therapeutic agent for enhancing wound healing in the elderly. However, the study noted limitations, such as reliance on animal data and the exclusive use of male specimens, indicating a need for further research.
