TLDR Finasteride can rarely cause tinnitus and deafness.
Dr. Richard Rogers reported a rare side effect of finasteride experienced by a 40-year-old male patient. The patient, who was otherwise healthy and had no known allergies, experienced tinnitus and deafness after using finasteride, a medication commonly used for hair loss treatment. This case highlighted the importance of monitoring and reporting uncommon adverse effects associated with medications.
