Conducted with 80 patients, divided into two groups of 40, the study found that topical calcipotriol (0.005%) was significantly more effective than tacrolimus (0.1%) in promoting hair growth over a 6-month period. Group A, treated with calcipotriol, showed a 67% efficacy rate, while Group B, treated with tacrolimus, had a 33% efficacy rate, with a statistically significant p-value of 0.0132. The study concludes that calcipotriol is superior to tacrolimus for hair growth in alopecia areata patients.
