Topical finasteride 0.25% in HPCH spray for androgenetic alopecia: a single-center retrospective study

This retrospective study assessed the effectiveness of topical finasteride 0.25% HPCH spray in 59 patients with androgenetic alopecia in Saudi Arabia. Results showed that 62.7% of patients used monotherapy, while 37.3% used combination therapy with platelet-rich plasma or oral minoxidil. Investigator Global Assessment scores indicated mild-to-moderate improvement, with combination therapy yielding significantly better results than monotherapy. Most patients experienced subjective hair regrowth, and adverse events were rare and mild. The study concludes that topical finasteride is effective, but further prospective randomized studies are necessary for confirmation.
