TLDR Betamethasone lotion works better for patchy hair loss.
The study compared the effectiveness of topical 15% lactic acid solution and topical betamethasone valerate lotion in treating multiple patchy alopecia areata (AA) in 50 patients, divided into two groups of 25 each. Group A used the lactic acid solution, while Group B used the betamethasone lotion, both for 12 weeks. The results indicated that betamethasone valerate lotion was more effective in managing multiple patchy AA. The study suggests that future research with larger sample sizes and longer follow-up periods could provide further insights.
