TLDR Ramania leaf extract is non-toxic but can cause stomach ulcers at high doses.
The study tested the acute oral toxicity of ethanol extract from Ramania leaves (Bouea macrophylla Griffith.) on female Wistar rats using a fixed dose method. Four groups of 5 rats each were given doses of 50, 300, 2000, and 5000 mg/kgBW. Over 14 days, no deaths or significant changes in clinical conditions, such as diarrhea or changes in motor activity, were observed, although hair loss occurred. Body weight changes were not significant except in one group after 14 days. The extract was classified as non-toxic with an LD50 > 5000 mg/kg, but high doses caused gastric ulcers.

Some suggest trying rosemary oil alongside other treatments, while others emphasize the difference between the extract used in the study and the oil.

A novel hemp extract allegedly promotes better hair growth than minoxidil and finasteride, with minimal side effects, but the study's credibility is questioned due to potential bias and confounding factors like peppermint oil. Users express skepticism and suggest sticking with proven treatments like minoxidil and finasteride.
