    TLDR New treatments for alopecia areata focus on targeted drugs and regenerative therapies, but challenges remain.
    The treatment of alopecia areata (AA) has advanced from traditional immunosuppressive methods to more targeted molecular and regenerative approaches. Janus kinase inhibitors, such as baricitinib, ritlecitinib, and deuruxolitinib, have demonstrated significant efficacy in regrowing scalp hair in moderate-to-severe cases by targeting the JAK/STAT pathway. Regenerative therapies, including exosomes and platelet-rich plasma (PRP), provide effective local treatment options without immunosuppression. Psychological support is also essential due to the condition's psychosocial effects. Despite these advancements, challenges like high relapse rates and socioeconomic barriers persist, highlighting the need for personalized and sustainable treatment protocols.
