This case report discusses a 43-year-old male with trichotillomania, a disorder characterized by chronic hair pulling, leading to severe alopecia and stress. The patient, who also suffered from depression, was hospitalized with a large ulcerated plaque on the occipital area. Treatment included antibiotics and antidepressants, which showed signs of improvement. The report suggests that combining psychotherapy with behavioral techniques and medication may be effective in managing trichotillomania, especially when psychiatric comorbidities are present.
