TLDR Troponin I may help detect heart problems in people with Androgenetic Alopecia.
The study, conducted in 2020, investigated the role of cardiac troponin I, a common cardiovascular disease marker, in patients with Androgenetic Alopecia (AGA). The research involved 75 participants, 50 of whom were suffering from AGA, and 25 were healthy individuals used as a control group. The researchers aimed to determine if troponin I could serve as a cardiac biomarker for cardiac issues in AGA pathogenesis. The results showed a significant positive correlation between troponin I levels, age, GLS, and grades, and a significant negative correlation with EF. This suggests that troponin I could potentially be used to detect hidden cardiac problems in patients with AGA.
