This study investigates the use of multiparametric ultrasound (MPUS) to assess a case of alopecia areata (AA) with scalp atrophy in a 27-year-old woman, following repeated corticosteroid injections. MPUS, which includes B-mode imaging, Doppler ultrasound, and shear wave elastography, revealed significant findings: scalp thinning, reduced vascular density, tortuous vessels, and increased tissue stiffness in affected areas. These results suggest that MPUS is an effective non-invasive diagnostic tool that provides valuable anatomical and functional insights into scalp conditions, offering a viable alternative to biopsy for monitoring therapeutic outcomes in AA patients.
