Unusual Presentation of Tinea Corporis Associated With the Use of a Microneedling Device

A 26-year-old woman developed an unusual case of tinea corporis after using a microneedling device, which was linked to her cat's fungal infection. The microneedling device, used for treating scars, likely facilitated the fungal infection by disrupting the skin barrier, allowing the fungus Microsporum canis to infect multiple sites. The patient was successfully treated with oral terbinafine and topical sertoconazol, achieving complete resolution in 5 weeks. This case highlighted the need for standardized protocols and guidelines for microneedling, especially for home use, to prevent infections and ensure safe practices.
