TLDR L-PRF effectively improved healing and bone integration in dental implant surgery.
A case study describes the use of leukocyte- and platelet-rich fibrin (L-PRF) in dental implant surgery for a 53-year-old female patient with atrophic bone ridge. L-PRF, obtained by centrifuging the patient's blood, was combined with biomaterial to fill the bone site during the installation of six implants in the upper maxilla. The procedure, which included sinus lift due to thin bone thickness, resulted in successful clinical outcomes with good healing and osseointegration of the implants. L-PRF proved to be an effective method for accelerating bone consolidation and tissue healing, offering a viable alternative in cases of atrophic bone ridge.
