October 2017
TLDR Vibration anesthesia can significantly lessen the pain during hair restoration surgery.
In 2017, Muhammad Ahmad and Humayun Mohmand conducted a study on 25 patients undergoing their first hair transplant surgery to assess the effectiveness of vibration anesthesia in reducing pain. The patients' scalps were divided into two halves, one half receiving injections with vibration and the other without. The average pain score was 4.56 without vibration and 2.96 with vibration. The study concluded that vibration anesthesia significantly reduced the pain experienced during hair restoration surgery.
