The research paper "Study of Vitamin D Levels in Men with Premature Androgenetic Alopecia" conducted a study on 50 men aged 18-30 years with premature androgenetic alopecia. The study aimed to establish a correlation between serum vitamin D levels and the severity of premature androgenetic alopecia. The results showed that 82% of the participants (41 patients) had a vitamin D deficiency (<20 ng/L), and 14% (7 patients) had insufficient vitamin D levels (21-29 ng/L). The study found a significant positive correlation between vitamin D deficiency and the severity of androgenetic alopecia, suggesting that vitamin D may play a role in the premature onset of androgenetic alopecia. However, the paper concludes that further studies on a larger population and the effect of vitamin D supplementation on the progression of androgenetic alopecia are required to validate these findings.
