TLDR Low vitamin D levels are linked to Alopecia Areata.
This study investigated the relationship between vitamin D levels and Alopecia Areata (AA) in a North Indian cohort, involving 44 AA patients and 44 matched healthy controls. The findings revealed a significant association between serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D deficiency and AA, especially among urban residents. The study suggests that screening for vitamin D deficiency could be a beneficial component of managing AA.
