This study introduces a sustainable multiprotein nanofiber system for wound healing, created through waterborne electrospinning using α-lactalbumin and soy protein isolate. The nanofibers, with up to 90% protein content, demonstrated superior structural and performance characteristics compared to single-protein systems. In a rat model with third-degree burns, these nanofibers significantly enhanced wound healing by promoting re-epithelialization, collagen deposition, and angiogenesis. The study highlights the potential of this eco-friendly, multifunctional biomaterial for future clinical applications in tissue repair.
