Wound Healing Effects of New Cream Formulations with Herbal Ingredients

The study evaluated the wound healing effects of two new cream formulations with herbal ingredients, Levant Storax Cream (LSC) and Complex Cream (CC), using a rat excisional wound model. LSC, containing balsam of oriental sweet gum, demonstrated the highest wound healing efficacy, outperforming both the commercial cream Madecassol® and the placebo, with full recovery observed by the ninth day. CC, with ingredients like Calendula oil and Aloe vera, also showed significant improvements but was similar in effectiveness to Madecassol®. Stability tests confirmed the creams' properties, and statistical analyses validated the results, highlighting the potential of these herbal formulations as effective wound care products.
