Case Report of Wound Treatment with Hyiodine Gel in an Occasional KID Syndrome Patient

This case report describes the successful treatment of a 35-year-old male with KID syndrome, a rare genetic disorder, who had chronic lower-limb wounds resistant to conservative treatment. The patient underwent surgical debridement and received topical treatment with Hyiodine gel, which contains hyaluronic acid and iodine, along with systemic antibacterial and antifungal therapy. Despite significant intraoperative bleeding, the patient experienced strong wound regeneration, reduced pain, and improved mobility, achieving stable wound closure and full functional recovery after more than two years of follow-up. The report highlights the effectiveness of combining surgical debridement with targeted pharmacological management for complex wounds in KID syndrome, though the findings are limited by the single-patient design.
