    TLDR Zinc is crucial for health, and lack of it can cause serious health issues.
    Zinc deficiency was known to impact the immune system, cognitive function, and growth in children, with severe cases leading to symptoms such as diarrhea, hair loss, poor appetite, skin disorders, impotence, and altered taste. Excessive alcohol consumption increased the risk of zinc deficiency.
