Lipodystrophy is a medical condition characterized by abnormal or degenerative conditions of the body's adipose (fat) tissue. It can manifest as either the loss of fat (lipoatrophy) or abnormal accumulation of fat in certain areas. This condition can be genetic or acquired and is often associated with metabolic complications such as insulin resistance and diabetes.
