The research found that cytoplasmic nucleic acids significantly induce the expression of chemokines such as CCL2, CXCL10, and CX3CL1 through NF-κB activation. However, the specific pattern recognition receptors involved remain unidentified. Additionally, no alternative splicing of these chemokines was observed, indicating that other mechanisms may regulate chemokine activity in keratinocytes.
