research Dental Manifestations in Vitamin D Dependent Rickets Type II with Alopecia: A Short Pictorial Case Report
Vitamin D-dependent rickets type II (VDDR-II) is a rare genetic disorder marked by resistance to vitamin D and severe cases of alopecia. This case report highlights a child's dental issues associated with VDDR-II, including sparse, hypoplastic teeth, profound dentin involvement, and delayed teething. Current treatments focusing on phosphorus and calcium supplementation may not adequately address dental abnormalities. A comprehensive, multidisciplinary management approach involving various specialists is essential for managing this complex condition in pediatric patients.
